- 2 cup boiled chickpeas
- 1/2 cup tahini
- 1 fresh lemon juice
- 1 tbsp. garlic powder or 3 cloves crushed garlic
- 4 tbsp. olive oil
- 2 tsp. salt
- 2 tsp. ground cumin
- 1/2 tsp. ground red pepper
- Just add all the ingredients in your food processor and mix for about 10 minutes until very creamy : ) If your hummus isn’t creamy enough add few tbsp. water while mixing. And consider it will also thicken in your fridge and make a little bit thinner as you would like.
For a sweet and sour variation of hummus, I served roasted garlic hummus with toasted sesame seeds. Spread a thin layer of bread with the toasted sesame seeds and place a small slice of garlic on top. To make the roasted garlic hummus extra sweet, drizzle a little bit of honey over the garlic when preparing the sandwich.
You can dress up your hummus easily by adding some light and tasty ingredients. If you’re not a huge fan of garlic, then use a mild Cayenne pepper. If you like nuts, try something with a strong flavor such as peanuts or almonds. By adding just a little bit of these key ingredients, you can transform your hummus into an amazing tasting dip that everyone will rave about.
